So I fall again

Wow. I mean, really. Wow.

For the past few months, things have kind of sucked. Luckily, not from an emotional standpoint, though. Well, not really. I've been feeling down.. bored with life, apathetic to everything simply because it's not up to snuff with my expectations. I've just wanted more than anyone seems to be willing to give.

But this weekend... exceeded my expectations fully. Friday, Collin and I stopped by Hosbond's after we left school, pathetically late as normal... Nothing exciting, but something to do until Steve's surprise party. We got a tour of the gardens, and headed off to Steve's house. Tyler, Eamon, etc told us to go around back, where there were quite a few people. The company at that point was good enough.. Some faces I was glad to see, others.. not so much. But, oh well. We all sat around out back for a while, munching on food, socializing.. Eventually Shane told us that we were to go downstairs, as Steve would be arriving soon.

So we went and sat in the basement. And sat. And sat. Turns out, Sable forgot about the party or something, meaning they didn't get him there until about half an hour after he was supposed to be. His reaction when he came downstairs was sort of an "oh." Then he looked to the other side of the room and just said "holy shit!" at the number of people. During the waiting, Kyle and Alex just wouldn't shut the fuck up. I mean, honestly, how hard is it to be quiet for a minute? But anyway...

It was a pool party (tee-hee, whenever I type that it comes out as "poop party"), but I decided not to bother to bring swimming trunks, because... I don't swim. Or, rather, I don't go shirtless in public. But since it was a pool party, Collin and I came up with the idea to toss Steve into the pool as soon as we all went back to the backyard. Collin was into the idea, and we got a bunch of other people in on it (first making sure Steve wouldn't have his cellphone on him - he lost it a while back).. So as soon as we all got back there, I yelled "Hey Steve, lets get a picture! Photo op!" so I posed Steve right in front of the pool, and everyone gathered around him. Joe and I were on either side of him, and Eamon was at his back. As soon as we all got in place, I counted down from 5 to Joe as Steve was distracted. We picked him up and just tossed him in. He did a beautiful backflip, and stayed submerged upwards of 5 seconds. It totally ruled.

So then everyone got to socializing. I talked to a bunch of people, wandered around. Alex, Collin and I at one point went and shot darts in the basement, and of course Wilson was a bitch about it, wanting to play by "rules" and such. We went back up, and after a while with more socializing and food eating, people started getting in the pool. Steve orchestrated a throwing of Collin into the pool with his clothes on, by stealing his cake. Collin had no idea, yet it was so obvious. I didn't help, but.. I also didn't stop it. I figured that it would decrease my chances of being thrown in.

Eventually, pretty much everyone was in the pool but Collin, Jessica, and myself. A few other people had gone to get bathing suits, but for the most part, it was just us. So Collin and I sat around for a while rockin' out to the chemical brothers, eating pixie dust off spoons. Darrin joined us after a while with the spoons, and Jessica hung out with us too. Eventually, more people started showing up. And more. And more. It got to the point where people showed up that Steve didn't even know, and some he didn't even like. The party tripled in size at least, towards the end.

Quinn, Talon, Andrew, Gemma, Nandi, Sara, and Jenny showed up. Davey too, at some point with travis. Jon and moschak... etc. Lots of people. It was surprisingly normal to see Jenny. I'm just like "oh, it's jenny. havent seen her in a while." it didn't really feel like she'd really been gone all that long. After a while, everyone was getting in the pool, and it looked like such a great time that Quinn, Collin and I had Talon throw us into the pool. By that point, it was completely dark out, and so we all swam around in the pool in darkness. It totally ruled. Eventually the police showed up saying that we were "disturbing the peace" or something crazy like that. So we quieted down and eventually had to get out of the pool. I was of course soaked, having no change of clothes. Warmed by the fire, talking to Talon, Nandi, Andrew, Collin, and at times Davey, I believe. Details are sketchy. That was cool. Although I didn't get any dryer. Just a warmer wet.

Thats.. pretty much all I can remember. After that, people were being lame and wanted to go home, so Collin and I headed off to his house to write more script. We've got till friday to finish it, and if we dont.. well, we'll be staying up late Friday. But we got some pretty good stuff written, but I was too tired to go on for more than about half an hour. I slept on his couch in the basement and was woken by Tommy at about 10 am by him going to take a shower. So I woke up in a typical groggy-at-collins-after-waking-up-too-early state, and went on Tommy's computer for like.. and hour before Collin woke up. Told Jon to come over to write some script at noonish when he got doing stuff. Collin then got on his computer, and we communicated from 10 feet away from each other via MSN (AIM on tommys computer apparently hates me).

Jon came over, and we got some good stuff written. Then I got hungry and cooked some freezer-waffles, and started going upstairs when Collin's mom brought us Guacamole, Apples and chips. The Guacamole was so-so.. a bit bland, and tasting too much of avacados... but good enough. The apples were a needed offset to the saltiness of the chips.

We were about to write more, but realized we didn't have the plot synopsis, and so it would be a bit hard to write from that point without it. So we headed off to my mom's, who, surprisingly, did not mention that I had to mow the lawn once. So we started writing and got some good stuff in (though I'm sure we'll be heavily revising the two parts we'd written on saturday).. Collin had to leave at 7 to go to impov practice, the show starting at 8. He left and Jon and I sat around, pretty much doing nothing. I just had him watch a bunch of videos I had on my computer. He suggested we go a bit early to improv and just listen to Carlin in the car. I agreed that this was a great idea, so off we went.

Carlin was good stuff, though I'd heard it all before.. We pretty much sat in Jon's car for 15 minutes listening to it before we went in. Cosmic cafe was much different than I had seen it before. Apparently the new Ana Perna (spelling butchered, I know) is currently stationed there until the new building is built, so there were tons of tables and such in there, and the stage was gone. Don't know if I like the new setup, but.. oh well. After Jon and I sat around for a while, Davey, Quinn, Jenny, Gemma, Sara, Nandi, Jed, Corey, Andrew, Evan, Talon, etc showed up for the improv... This time it was only Hosbond, John, Ananda, and Collin (no lilly! yay! no paul! boo!).. the show was okay, and as always, I felt it was too short. They obviously hadn't practiced, and Ananda sucked as much as usual (why not just keep the 4-person size, but replace Ananda with Heather? think how fun that would be :D), but overall, a pretty good show... the highlight for me (and Jon and Collin, I'm sure) was when we had to write down lines on paper. I decided that a paritularly disturbing line from the movie - "Let's handcuff him to the showercurtain and chainsaw him from the crotch up!" - would be a great line for it. Collin was doing the game with Ananda, and she picked it up. She got about halfway through it where Collin yelled "no!" and slapped it out of her hand. Good stuff.

Other highlights were Corey and Jed's incessant "ganja" jokes, and John ignoring me on the "uhhh.. uhh..." game (where i have to give him a line to say every once in a while) because my content was.. questionable. The free cookies and juice were good, too. Though Jed stealing my seat wasn't.

After the show, we all hung around the cafe. Jenga-ripoff and Daveyball were good times. We need to do that more often. The woman running the place seemed to really like us, and apparently she wants the improv guys to perform every month, so that should KICK ASS. Anyway, after we all left, Tiffany decided we should go to Waterworks park.. it was okay for a bit, but then Sara's parents made her go home because there was a tornado warning, and Davey was wanting to go home because of it, so they left... after a while, Bryan and friends showed up, so I wanted to go... Jenny apparently did as well, but probably for different reasons. But it worked for me. We left and went to Alex's. Had a few cookies, talked, sat around, then started watching Interview with a Vampire. I had only ever seen the second half of it at Thespian Conference rooming with Sam, Collin, and.. Corey, was it? sophmore year, so i was excited to see it.

Too bad I suck at watching movies early in the morning. I fell asleep, and woke up periodically to catch snippets of it.. at least I stayed fully conscious up till the part I hadn't seen. Eventually at about 2:30, Alex tapped me on the hand and asked if i was sleeping. I told him "every once in a while" (although soon realized i would rather have said "off and on" instead), and he said i should probably go home then. I dismissed it for a few seconds, but then realized.. "wait.. maybe i should. I had practice at 10 tomorrow"... so I did. And thank god, because when i left, it was raining :D

I love walking in the rain, especially in the morning when there are no cars about. It was windy, and i walked home slowly, just enjoying the feeling. That ruled. And I realized, as my nose was plugged up then, and for the rest of the previous week, that.. god dammit! just when i was finally feeling really emotionally good again, my physical self decides to break down. Oh well. God damn stuffy nose bothered me all weekend.

So I woke up early (9) on sunday.. Took a shower, ate breakfast, and sat down on the computer for a while.. I budgeted my time so that I could make it with a bit of time to spare riding my bike to practice. As soon as I got outside of the house, I realized my mistake. My bike was gone. Luckily, MUM isn't too far from my dad's house, so I started walking. I got about halfway there and thought "Shit, I'm gonna be late".. but luckily one of the people on there way there saw me and gave me a ride the rest of the way there.

Practice.. GASP! wasn't too hot. We're just blocking in The Fall right now, and that's repetitive and boring.. then we broke for lunch.. hosbond and i went to University Amaco and i had a poptart and a small chocolate milk from everybodys (they're always out of the big ones!)... hosbond had Naked Juice which he said was terrible and a disgusting looking piece of banana bread... after a while, Mr. Jones came in and said hi to hosbond, and after he left, hosbond made some comment about Jones wearing shorts and a tshirt to work (implying that he didnt get to), and the woman at the counter said "oh, are you kids graduating this year?".. this was not only funny because she thought hosbond was young, but because she's actually a parent of one of hosbond's students whos bitched him out twice before... good stuff.

Afternoon practice sucked, because.. well, it's singing. I cant sing (no i cant!), as i have a very small range and cant hit anything even relatively high, and my voice quality comes out souding like Geoff Boothby's voice when he sings (which is not favorable).. but regardless, Rodney assigned me two songs which i was.. not too happy about. One of them seems easy enough (though Kirce and Alana's choreography for it seems... uhh... different), but "Soon it's gonna rain" has some way-too-high notes. Oh well. I could bitch about the show right now, but.. I won't.

After that, I went home for about an hour before going to Sam's graduation party. I was going to hang out with nandi, but there wasnt enough time between practice and sam's party to do so.. The party was pretty cool.. People showed up and I talked to them for a while, socialized, ate cake, and watched Sam's themes video. Unfortunately, people kept showing up who hadnt seen it, so he kept having to play it. I didnt particuarly want to see it again in such short time, so I ended up wandering around. Oh, and Sam's new dog rules. In my wanderings, I walked down to the creek thats by there house and suddenly remembered having to cross it in the Jeep with my dad like... 10 years ago or something. Crazy.

After a while, everyone left the party and I was considering doing so too, but Hosbond wanted to see Sam's room, and so I was showing it to him and Diana came up too. After hosbond left, Diana and i just started talking.. we ended up just talking for like.. 3 hours (though it was mostly her, for those amazed that i could actually talk for "like.. 3 hours").. but, yeah, that was really nice. Like, really nice. I hadnt just felt that comfortable and relaxed with someone for a while.. eventually Diana's mom called me down saying she had to get ready for bed, and so i went down and started watching the outtakes of the themes video with sam and his parents... i asked sam if hed give me a ride home, and he said after he finished watchin the video, so i called my mom and she said just come home whenever, so i waited until he had opened up his graduation presents and a few cards.. it was about 10:45 when I eventually got home.

So that was cool.

In other news, school is ending, and I almost fear the worst for the summer. Things have just started to get better the past two weekends, but I'm guessing that this won't really apply as much in the summer. People will probably be "doing things," which takes on a completely different definition in the summer. The difference being, in the summer, it doesnt involve [m]any other people. But, to each their own. I'll find enough to do even if my worst case scenario of "doing things" turns out to be true - though I kind of doubt it to the extent I can think of. Hopefully the movie will turn out great..

So, I suppose thats that.
